Thursday, 4 March: Elton’s wedding shock!
It’s the news that every glossy magazine editor and celeb-spotter up and down the land has been waiting for. Elton John - the man who throws the undisputed blingiest parties in the world – has let slip that he’s planning to pop the question to his long-term partner David Furnish.

But there’s one small hitch that’s, erm, stopping him getting hitched just yet. Elton – quite rightly – wants to tie the knot in the UK, but he’s waiting for a new law to be passed first. The Civil Partnerships Bill, currently on its way through Parliament, will entitle gay ‘civil partners’ to have similar rights to heterosexual married couples.

‘We are going to get married when the Bill gets passed,’ Elton revealed. ‘If people who want to make a life commitment can’t have protection, we live in a pretty sick world.’ Quite right, too, Elton!

But once all that legal malarkey’s out the way, Elton and David can get on with planning the greatest wedding in the world – ever! Donatella Versace will doubtless have a hand in designing the couple’s outfits – and they may well walk down the aisle to the strains of Elton’s ‘Your Song’. Ooooh, we’re getting tears in our eyes just thinking about it.

When it comes to choosing bridesmaids, they’re going to be spoilt for choice. Close friends Victoria Beckham and Liz Hurley will surely be near the top of the list – but we imagine that both women will want their children to play a part in the big day, too.

So perhaps Brooklyn Beckham could lead Elton’s cocker spaniel down the aisle on a diamond-encrusted lead, Romeo Beckham could be ring-bearer and Damien Hurley could be toupee-bearer (well, Elton’s bound to want to try a new look halfway through the service).

To keep within the sites "political not allowed" guidelines, this has become a big issue here in the States too.
The right too marry thing.
Honestly I don't see anything wrong with it and why people are making a big deal out of it is beyond me.
It isn't my choice of lifestyle but who am I to criticise or judge someone based on what they decide to do with their life?
As long as their issues aren't forced on me I have no right forcing mine on them.
And if more people stopped forcing "their" issues and beliefs in what is right and wrong on others, the world would be a much better place to live!!

Fret. Once again I agree 100% with your comments. I like to think that I'm a tolerant person. "Live & let live" is my motto. I would just point out that I find the way that certain "celebrities" flaunt their way of life at every opportunity highly offensive. Roll Eyes

I agree too .......... but in this case I dont think its the celeb flaunting their lifestyle .... From what I've seen of Elton John  he seems to be quite a private person who wouldnt and doesnt have to grab attention ... Me thinks in this case its some preditory hack trying to make a name for himself by making an issue out of something that aint really an issue .... But whats new there.
