Ya, they mentioned that their TCAS will be incredibly advanced from just telling where planes are.

Quote:
There are alot of details to be shared on the TCAS implementation- it is not simply an "aircraft locator" but a completely functional implementation of the TCAS system carried aboard modern airliners!

And.... I must be arrogant, but I can't find the TCAS. I must be looking for the wrong thing... Embarrassed

On the NG's, the TCAS is integrated into the navigationdisplay, and the TCAS settings TA,TA/RA etc can be selected on a frontpanel on the "radiostack"

look here:
http://www.airliners.net/open.file/415573/L/

Right of the transponder (where you put the squawkcode) is a little knob Smiley

TA= Traffic advisory, too close trafic will result in aural "TRAFFIC" warnings.
RA= Resolution alerts, will give you "climb" or "decend" call outs when you're on a collision course with another aircraft. The smart thing is that the other plane will get the opposite warning. So if you have  CLIMB! warning, the crew in the other plane will have a DESCEND warning. Very smart system indeed Smiley
