has someone here installed the NO CD Patch download from here at SIMV.

Can you direct me to the folder that you are suppose to overwrite this with. Is it suppose to be the entire FS9.exe from the program files folder.

That would mean you were suppose to install the patch right after installing the game the first time right.

If I were to do it right now would it delete all my addon aircraft and scenery files in the overwrite.

Yes, it replaces the fs9.exe and no, it doesn't change a thing in your simulator except for the fact that you won't have to insert the disc in the drive anymore.

Thanks I did a little trial and error and found out the silliest thing.

All I needed to do was extract the file enclosed in the download then go into the FS9 directory and switch the EXE with this EXE.

Now it allows me to put a Music CD in the DVD drive to listen to music while I fly using this download called the "CDradio" guage.

Will it not cause a problem when playing online? I know sometimes on the zone on games like AOE it comes up with different version if you're not using a CD?

Well I haven't tried online playing yet to see if it will present a problem. According to someone else that has the NO Cd patch it doesn't matter. All that that program looks for is  the FS9 exe. and runs the program that way!

besides if it does present a problem, I still have a back up of the origianl exe. and that will mean I can't listen to music while I am flying on line (bummer).

Just got to switch the exe. files when I go online if a problem pops up!

I would make a backup copy of the file the no cd patch replaces.and put it in a safe place that way if microsoft happens to release a patch then you may have to revert back to the way it was.and its allways good to have a open door in case of problems that may come up.

The no CD Patch from here at SimV works fine. It starts the game offline and offline without the #4 Cd in your reader drive.

Even with the multiplayer games (Zone.com) it seems they don't look in your drive for the Cd to run. All they are looking for is the FS9 exe file to start up the game.

It worked for me! Now to go back on operating on the CDRADIO. Without changing any setttings on my PC.
