Don't think fighters will be better unless 3rd party models them.

There ain't no third party aircraft for IL-2. You can't really enhance the game except by adding some aircraft skins.
So the developers have to make accurate flight models for the planes to provide as much realism as possible.

Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

Just got the game today. Seems OK but I'm having problem with controls. I have a MS Force Feedback II joystick and although the aircraft respond to the stick, the guns won't fire although I've assigned them to the trigger (button 1). Can anyone help.

Preference:  FS2004 I believe is not as good as FS2002.
                   CFS1 is better than CFS2 and CFS3.

So let me get this straight...you pay $30 for the game and then they want another $14 for the friggin' MANUAL??

Yeah, there's a company I'd support.

I remember $40 for the bound version and $14 online.
There is an Adobe Lock_On_Reference_Manual for free.  Tons of technical material but short on "how to".  DIY.
The second patch hasn't been released.  End of April was initial target date.   June 04 Aviation History review comments LOMAC features excellent graphics but has not outgrown performance bugs.  Writer's system was P4 2.2 with a 64 MB card.  Card isn't adequate and stutter the result. If the bugs are worked out; a trained F-15 or A-10 USAF pilot will feel at home.  For the rest the learning curve is likely to be very shallow.  Worth the $30 for me to see the graphics.

Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry

The game is just not worth it. Too many things going wrong. Have decided to return it. I will uninstall IL2 Sturmvik also. Ubi Soft just have a lot to learn. I'm sticking with my MS games.

Wrong move,mate.
LOMAC disappointed me, but IL-2 is IMHO still the best WW2-air combat-sim around...so if you have had no trouble with it until now,why don't you just keep it?

Kiss Kiss Kiss Kiss

Exploder:

I returned my copy of LOMAC and exchanged it with another copy (no return or refund policy you know). It's still giving me the same problems despite the patch. Sounds like others are also having problems with the game. Since the accompanying guide seemed a little vague and the description in the Option section unclear, can you tell me how to correctly enable my Force Feedback 2 joystick so that I may used it to fire weapons as well as flight control?

Thanks

I was referring to IL-2, but I totally support your opinion on LOMAC. Wink
My suggestion: Go to ebay and look if you can get Falcon 4. This game may be five years old,but on the one hand, it has a decent manual (700 pages! As a real book,of course. Wink),on the other hand it still kicks a$$,especially with the SuperPak patches.
Plus: It has the most realistic campaign I've ever seen.
