Hi All...!
I stuck this here, but it applies equally to FS 2002... Wink

...!

I remember, (from times long ago!), using either Flight Unlimited II or FLY! that it was possible to create a flight plan showing multiple stops for the complete flight.
Example: On the flight plan screen.....
Box 1 selected the Departure Location.
Box 3 Selected to Destination Location.
..... It was possible to type in all the airports in between in Box 2, (which increased in size/length depending how many airports were typed in).
Upon completion of the flight plan, the complete route appeared on the GPS Map, which could then be flown on Autopilot, if wished.
In FS 2002/2004 it appears that only the Departure and Destination locations can be entered, (unless I am missing something out?).
This would probably be correct, (and safe), in real life to create a flight plan one leg at a time, but in the Sim it was nice to fly the whole route shown on the GPS map, (also the FSNavigator map)... Grin

Here is an example of a typical map, showing the complete route...
Note that on an area of this size it would not be practical to drag the start/destination line between all the seperate airfields... Cry

Just drag the red line over the waypoints that you want.

I'm ferrying a Junkers JU-52 from Adak Is, AK to Port Angeles, WA, over 2300 nm. Before I started flying, I opened up the flightplanner and planned the entire route with all the stops

On the map I posted, If you zoom out to cover the whole of the flight area, the individual airfields become so small that the ID codes dissapear, and it is impossible to find the particular airfield you are looking for, to drop the line onto..!!
..especially noting the zig-zag flight plan covering half of California, containing 15 seperate airfields!
In the "EDIT" box it would be more useful to type-in the ID codes in a column starting from the departure location, through all the intermediate airfields, and finish at the destination airfield.
(I have a list of all the airfield ID codes in my flight plan).
This was the procedure used in the Flight Unlimited/FLY! simulators.
When the flight plan typing was conpleted, the red line would automatically join up all the airfields shown on the GPS map....easy-peasy... 8)...!
Dragging the red line only really works for small areas where you can zoom in, or a continuous long distance flight from A to B, similar to Andrews flight.

I know what you mean, but doesn't your FS Navigator, the program you swear by have that option?

I tried it there, couldn't get it to work that way.
FS Navigator seems to take a lot of it's information from the flight sim.
It only seems to work one leg at a time, the same as real life, I suppose... Roll Eyes

Hey Fozzer

I just read your post on this and thought I would give it a try.

I have FS Navigator as well though I am not an expert by any means.

You can search your airports by ID in FS Navigator and drag the ones that you want in the order that you want them to the flight plan window.

Then once you have all your airports that you want you can either fly the flight plan with FS Navigator or you can export it as a Fs 2004 flight plan.

I am probably "singing to the choir' here or maybe this isnt even what you need but you never know! Grin

??? Hey Fozzer I just installed FS Navigator, and along with what you guys are discussing is a question that maybe you can help me with.

I have quite a few addon AC, and they don't show up on the aircraft list in FS Navigator.

Is there a way to add these planes to the list?

One sure way to do this is to use the VFR flight plan rather than the IFR plan. By doing this you can edit your course to incude as many stops as you wish. The only draw back is you have to select the airport you want to stop at from the nearest airport list as you get close, than just select the airport and after you have stopped you can resume the flight plan right where you left off. And on the last leg you can request an IFR plan from the last airport you stopped at to your final destanation, make sure not to put the aicraft at the starting place and edit the flight path to follow the remaing of your trip.
