hello guys,
anybody who want to help me? i got this problem just now and i dont know how to fix it. anyway the problem is:
"Safe Mode has been enabled because your system is currently unable to use hardware acceleration. While in safe mode, you will able to run Flight Simulator and troubleshoot hardware issues , but performance and display quality will be affected. Product support services does not support safe mode".
i never encountered this problem before. i played FS2002 with no problem regarding about hardware acceleration its just occured NOW.
any computer wizard outhere who wanna help me? by the way im using Windows XP Home Edition with 512 MB of RAM, Intel Pentium 4 1.8 GHz. what is "NVIDIA GeForce2 MX/MX 400?" is this the video card that im using?
thanks alot guys!
p.s. how to find out the complete hardware and software specifications of my computer?

jcrue,
The same thing happened to me when I first installed FS2002 two years ago.
First, check the Graphics Hardware Acceleration. For Win98SE, right-click on the Desktop; select Properties; Settings tab; Advanced button; Performance tab. The Hardware Acceleration control slider should be set to FULL. If not, slide it over the the FULL position.
Second, run FS2002 and select Settings and Display. Be sure the box is checked to "Enable Hardware Acceleration".
If all of the above is OK, then it may be that your video card isn't working.
Let us know if any of this worked for you. If not, come on back and give someone else a chance to help.
Regards,
JerryH

Your computer isnt set up to properly run the sim, I'm assuming you are trying to run ACOF.
The PC doesn't meet the minimum requirements needed to run the program.
I'll take a shot in the dark here and guess you have integrated (onboard) graphics and not a proper video card. You can adjust the amount of RAM that your system shares to the onboard graphics chip in the BIOS settings of your PC.
I'm sorry but my psychic powers have faded at the moment, give us some details of what sort of system you have.
If your PC is up to scratch, then it's the settings for the graphics.
Mainboard: Asus P5K-Premium, CPU=Intel E6850 @ x8x450fsb 3.6ghz, RAM: 4gb PC8500 Team Dark, Video: NV8800GT, HDD: 2x1Tb Samsung F3 RAID-0 + 1Tb F3, PSU: Antec 550 Basiq, OS: Win7x64, Display: 24" WS LCD

With him running XP Home, you'd hope his pc met the "real" requirements of XP and have 256MB of RAM etc, I'd be looking at drivers, but like congo says, psychic powers ain't too sharp about these parts, post some specs of your system.

It would help to know what video he's running, but other than that, his system is up to specks to run the sim. Sounds like a driver problem.
