have you tried Steve McClelland's European packs for cfs2?

Not sure about the yellow corn fields but these packs do add rivers, roads, etc to this entire area and of course include many airfields. I like flying over these at night - the roads are lit and have moving vehicles - so much for the blackout, eh?

I've not used it, but there is a replacement scenery texture pack (texsu.zip) by Lennart Arvidsson that is strongly recommended by C. Burgess of the GroundCrew Design team - supposed to suit European scenery better. Check out the extra installation read-me in the ground crew cfs2 hurricane campaign for details (BTW the campaign is also excellent!) - http://www.groundcrewdesign.com/cfs2pack.htm. The link to the textures mentioned in this file is broken, but I've tracked them down to the Norwegian flightsim site:
