Hi, hope someone can help me with this one.

I run a squad on the zone (CFS1) and we have a download section of various planes for our pilots to fly. Recently I have put 2 aircraft up which work perfectly for all the members with WIN98 but will not work for members with XP. They cannot select the aircraft, error message 'visual model could not be displayed' and if they join a game when any of us are using either of these 2 planes they are immediately booted from the game.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated, as we would like to keep the planes but it is not fair for the XP users if I cannot solve this problem.

Many thanks  Ivor

Ivor some of the aircraft won't work in XP. I had the same problem with an FB Mossie I couldn't use but my friend could...

Sorry

Nice to see you again! I thought I'd seen something on this, so have a had a quick look into it for you.

There is some info on Grumpy's CFS2 tips page re visual model issues that would appear to apply also to CFS1 (http://www.simviation.com/lair/cfs2faq.htm)

Apparently XP users can use something called the FS2000 MDL Repair Utility to fix this problem. Available at: http://www.simviation.com/fs2000utilities_gen2.htm

Hope this helps

All the best,

Pads

PS - I'd love to see that new Lancaster you've been working on!

Sorry. I missed this. The conflict is with some older aircraft & Win2000/XP. This conflict has nothing to do with the sim & the same aircraft work perfectly on Win98/Me. Patching the MDL file with the MDL Repair Utility should fix it.
