From my point of view, I wouldn't mind if a few are set up in "Aggressor" squadrons.
Let's not forget that these wouldn't be the first '29s in Western hands. Until recently, Germany had them as front line aircraft.

A lot of the former Eastern Bloc countries are still using them (I'm still trying desperately to blag a ride in one!)
Hungary is about to change over to the new Saab though
Personally I think the 29 is gorgeous, and one hell of a fine fighter. I think some jocks are going to get a nasty shock when they go up against the real thing

the won't be the first Migs in US colours, but I'm sure Mr Guruvitch (sp) didn't see this coming 20 years ago

Those are from Moldova, and by far not as hot (read: modern) as the ones the Luftwaffe has....
Export versions are even worse.
Next holiday trip destination for the USAF would probably be Brasil (Su-35) or Indonesia (Su-30).
Crazy Craing, Mr Gurevich is no longer with us... The MiG-29 was done under supervision of mr Waldenberg (sounds very german for a russian national)
Russian planes:
IL-76 (all standard length ones)
,
Tu-154 and Il-62
,
Tu-134
and
An-24RV

Of course he did and knew about it.
N. Korean defector flew a -15 (about 1952/53?)
THere was the celebrated defection of a Mig25 to Japan (very studied before it was crated and sent back)
You can presume that there have been defections and/or captures of aircraft from both sides (there exist photos of the test centre near Moscow with F4 Phantoms in the 60s/70s)
Now,it is a matter of record that the export versions aren't as "good" as the "home" versions - exception - I"d say that the Indian Air Force equipment, especially the more modern airplanes, are probably better than the "home" versions, since partial development and manufacturing is done in India.

I would think that we(USA) would upgrade the avionics systems to our stuff wihch is about the best out there.
Of course that is if we used them for anything, and an aggressor squad would be awesome.

If you want nice displays and other gadgets in your MiG, call Paris (Thomson/CSF) and Jerusalem (Elbit).
Sukhoi tends to be a lot easier in the electronics department
