I was glad to find this repaint of my favorite airline.  I finally figured out why pressing the "APP" button on approach send my plane into a frenzy-- it turns out I never knew to type in the heading of the runway in the "NAV" box.  thus, when pressing "APP", the plane would try and set itself up for an approach to heading 340.  Oh well, you learn something new every day.  Anyway, here's my story.


Skies are clear on this cold winter day.  The sun is peaking through, and the skies are crowded with traffic.  I am returning home from my visit to a friend at Syracuse University.

We were cleared for takeoff at approximately 11:35AM this morning.  The sun hits her nose as I pull the bird into the sky.



I decided to fly a relatively low-altitude flight.  Here we are levelling off at 13,500 feet.  I turn the seat-belt signal off and the passengers are free to roam the airplane although there aren't many on board, just 25 young men and women returning from a basketball tournament in Syracuse and an old couple flying to JFK to meet a connector to the Dominican Republic for a second honeymoon.



After about 35 minutes of flight, ATC ordered my descent and turn toward Queens, and John F. Kennedy Intl.  Here, I am just leaving the Hudson Valley.



About 10 minutes later I found myself on a nice and smooth approach to runway 4L at the airport.  The beaches  around the airport are empty in the freezing weather.



I came in a little too soon, and hit an icy patch as I touched down.  I regained control of the plane and it wasn't much of a problem.  The basketball team is back home, the elderly couple will be on time for their connection flight, and I'm ready for some rest in my home in Staten Island.

I don't believe so.  They're independent.  They hold the record as being the wealthiest and best financed airline at inception of the Company.  I think they started with 20-something brand spankin' new Airbus' and now they're up to about 50.  They're planes have leather seats and they're so comfortable.  Everyone also gets free soda, chips, and DirectTV access. The one time I flew JetBlue, i didn't even watch TV though, i was too busy tuning into the channel that showed a map of the United States and the current position of the airplane, as well as altitude, and airspeed-- very cool!

I visited my girlfriend in Rochester from JFK.  there was no delay, i got to the terminal, handed in my boarding pass, got on the plane, and in 20 minutes we were over New York City.  Within 10 minutes I saw West Point, where I went to school for a year very clear.  It was wonderful, then we made a turn northwest and in 40 more minutes I was in Rochester.  The flight was one-dollar cheaper than if I took an Amtrak from NYC to rochester, a 7 hour, unbearable ride.

JetBlue adds new destinations every month and I only see them growing and growing and pretty much taking over the American airline industry.  

edit: also, each aircraft has a different tail wing design, which is really cool.  some have stripes, some have dots, etc.  i don't think there are 50-something different designs, but there's at least 10 that i know of...

thanks guys, i appreciate all the comments.  this kinda feedback inspires me to make better stories and make more pics, but don't worry-- I won't use jetBlue for ALL of them.  haha.
