Here's a job I'm doing for Bush Flying Unlimited. I volunteered to ferry an old Junkers JU-52 from Adak Is, AK (PADK) to Port Angeles (KNOW), over 2300 nm following the coast. I thought I would post the first leg here, and if anyone is still interested, I'll keep posting untill I reach my destination.
I was never a good writer, so bear with me, and if you have any suggestions, I could sure use them

Leg 1 PIREP
As my pager went off, I took a glance at the lit-up display and noted that It was the Airboss. "It's not very often that he pages me so early in the morning", I thought to myself. I was already enroute and an hour away from Anchorage so it would have to wait untill I land. Once in Anchorage, I used the nearest phone I could find and quickly called him.
"Where Are you?" He asked
"I just arrived in Anchorage" I replied.
"I've got a special job that I think you may be interested in"
"Really? What kind of job?" I asked.
"Heather won an old Junkers JU-52. The only problem is that it's over on Adak Island, but she's too busy to go get it. Right now, she's specifically requesting that an experienced BFU pilot ferry it to Port Angeles."
"I would love to do it!", I exclaimed.
"I'll let Heather know you're on the way. Good luck"
I grabbed my suitcase that I've been living out of for the last few months, and after taking a couple commuter flights, I finally ended up on Adak Island late afternoon.
Once I located the hangar, I found the maintenance crew finishing up with an oil change. After showing my ID to previous owner, we finished up some paperwork for the aircraft transfer, and insisted that I take the aircraft up for a little while to get a feeling of how it flies. Once the crew was done, we wheeled the aircraft out of the hangar and I took it up for half an hour flying around the island.
Once finished, we wheeled it back in the hanger, and after finding a hotel room, I crashed for the night.
In the morning, I ate a quick breakfast and went back to the airport to find the maintenance crew doing some last minute inspections. I walked over to the Terminal to get a last minute weather report and to file my flightplan.
Sky was overcast with low cielings, Temperature was 22 degrees F, Visibility was 20 miles, and winds were 20 knots from the NE.
Once the fuel tanks were topped off & all the extra parts loaded up, I departed Adak Island at 2000Z and I set my course for Unalaska airport (PADU). After a very uneventfull flight of looking at what seemed like never ending water, I finally arrived in Unalaska at 2300Z. Once down, I taxied to the pumps, shut everything down, and closed my flightplan.
