I enjoy military aircraft and helicopters.  But I don't see many current models.  Especialy USMC helo's:
CH-46 Sea Knight
CH-53 Super Stallion
AH-1W Cobra
UH-1N Huey
and the new:
V-22 Osprey.

Need advice on the how to's, lessons learned, and sugestions on creating/making these for FS2004.

Input greatly appreciated.

I started making a V-22 awhile back, but gave up for newer ideas.  I did, however, upload my Gmax work onto this site.  Its here:

http://www.simviation.com/adoptfsc.htm

It has no views to work with, but I guarantee it to be spot on.

Well theres loads of hueys floating about, and there all good so it would probably be pointless to do another when so many other ones are being made, Ive heard or seen somewhere that a seanight is in develpment.

Why dont you try maybe a 212 or a 412, there pretty cool and theres no freeware ones out.

The best thing to do though is build what you like the most, you'll get the best results in the end.

Head over to hovercontrol.com most of us rotary people are over there and we'll help you out.

Thanks for the input.  Al, I'll definitely try the that Site.  Getting V-22 Data is no problem.  I can walk over to one anytime I'd like over here at MCAS New River.  I work just a 5-minute walk away from any Marine Corps rotary aircraft.

Keep the ideas and input rolling....

Would you be so kind as to take a few interior snapshots and some cockpit shots?  I would be eternally grateful!

What helo's are you looking for?

These are what I see/work on:
AH-1W Cobra
UH-1N Huey
CH-46E Sea Knight
CH-53E Super Stallion
V-22 Osprey

I REALLY want a few pics of the V-22, mainly in the cockpit, as I don't know what it looks like in  its entirety, as well as the cargo section.

The best format for images (at least around here) would be *.jpg or *.jpeg format.  They should be about 800x600 and under 100kb to save bandwidth and such.  Just post them on this thread and we can pick them up here.

Thanks a million!

I also have some data files, specs, and pictures.  Files are large, so e-mail me at dusty019@charter.net and I will send them to you.

Started Construction of a MV-22 Osprey.  However, I need help with how to make it work in both helicopter, and airplane modes.  I figured I could make the nacelles move using foreward edge flaps.

any suggestions?

I also have some good data I came accross for the new 4-bladed Huey and Cobras. They are .pdf files.  E-mail me at dusty019@charter.net if you want them.

Why don't you try downloading the V-22 by Vlad Zhyhulskiy, here:

http://www.simviation.com/fs2002props32.htm

You can also try looking at my incomplete version here:

http://www.simviation.com/adoptfsc.htm

They will give you an idea of how you can control the rotation of the engines.

Basically, they both use a combination of keyframe flaps and airbrakes.

The V-22 by Vlad Zhyhulskiy is under FS2002 files.  Any problem running it in FS2004 that you know of?

I also found a V-22 on AVSIM. (sorry simviation)

I just found it today, about 2 minutes after I posted last.

A now I feel really goofy. didn't even think to look under FS2002 files.  I only browsed those for FS2004!  lol.

I was hoping to do something new.  But I should probably pick something not as difficult.

Has anyone done the new 4-bladed Huey and Cobra yet?

I should look.

Thanks Ender Baron.

There would be no issues (I think) with running it in ACOF; its a Gmax model.

The problem is that some of the stuff in it is modeled a bit funny.  The main issue I have with it is the lack of a VC and other small things.  I am still going to attempt to finish my own Gmax model, here very soon.

Just remember, FS2004 is not capable of replicating vectored thrust.  Therefore, the V22 will either be a fixed-wing or a helicopter but NOT both. Rotating the nacelles into the vertical position won't make it happen. I know it SHOULD...but it WON'T.

There is a payware model available ($20 USD for the download link and $30 USD for a CDpackage) there are some pics of it in the payware section under the title UH1Z King Cobra and in the section on "I need help editing a CFG" under my name.

I made a few modifications (as you can see in the payware screenshots section). Placed the lights in correct positions, added a Rocket file so that I can fire rockets off the loadout HELLFIRE sytle. and last but least I changed the soundfile to give it authentic Cobra rotating blades sound! They are loud as hell and I like it! Feels so damn real!

Seems to me, for that much you should at least get an accurate aircraft!  It irks me that there is so much payware out there that I wouldn't download for free, EVER!

I hear ya EnderBaron,

The website I got this from doesn't provide a email contact so that you can give them positive or negative feedback. I would have told them a thing or two.

But in the end the main part of the model (the Aircraft) was accurate (exterior and Interior) was accurate. it just came with a few quirks that were correctable. I really always liked this version of the Huey Cobra and I am much satisfied with what I am flying right now!

But i figure $20 isn't much to ask for the hours of work the creator probably put into making this aircraft. I know how difficult it is because I put some months into creating a F14 Tomcat for FS2002 and it never got off the ground because I didn't have enough skills to animate and paint it. All I designed was the body and weapons. So I don't feel like I was ripped off at all!

If anyone out there has this payware aircraft and would be interested in my alterations give me a buzz. It is a download away! Freeware upgrade!

What's the weblink for the site where you got the AH-1Z?

Once I get it, I'll drop you a line to get the mods you made.
