almost got a shot like that once over North Bay, Ontario...but I couldn't talk the pilot to turn out the cockpit lights for a second so I could take the pic through the canopy of the T-Bird.
Just too many reflections.
His decision probably had something to do with the Sqdn CO flying 150 yds off the port wing.
The aurorae are truly spectacular once you get into the clear skies above all the light pollution at ground level.
