I regret not looking into University of North Dakota.  After being at Embry-Riddle for almost a year now, I dislike it.  UND seems to have a better program in a few manners, cheaper (price wise), they teach you how to cross international borders (Riddle doesn't), UND has Raytheon biz jets (Riddle has jet simulators), in North Dakota gets actual IFR weather.  So for those who were looking into colleges with flight schools, check this out. 

I'm considering leaving Embry-Riddle, mostly because I despise the attitude of students, I have only been able to get along with maybe 5 at most, if I would stay it would only be for one thing, all year motorcycle weather.  Just remember, just because the school is the "best in its field" doesnt mean its good for you.

personally i am not worried about how good a school is. Like you said its whats best for you as a person. I am trying to avoid an aviation related degree as its very unlikely it will be any help in the non aviation world should that career not happen:)

i am looking at getting a degree in Physics or Maths which wil not only help in the aviation world, but in numerous amounts of other jobs.
And theres nothing wrong witha  small local FBO, they can usually put more time into students than these huge schools with loads of students. From what i have been told at least

i have also heard that taller people 6 foot+ have trouble fitting in the cessnas?? i hope not as that would mean finding a piper warrior which is more expensive to learn in, being 6'2 has its disadvantages.
