a pilot (forgot who it was,i think galland) once said: "the 109 is the rapier, the 190 the sword". imho a very good saying,because it perfectly describes the characteristics of both of the planes.
the small,fast and maneuverable 109 for fighter-fighter combat and the heavy and well armed 190 for blowing bombers out of the sky.

i know,this post doesn't really have associations with the thread's topic,but i thought that this could be a nice addition to it.
