What the definition of small. On this side of the pond a Subaru Impreza isn't really that small...

My Honda HRV is nice, not too big, happily cruises at 75-80mph, doesn't drink too much petrol (gas Wink

hmmm, me thinks that my little chevrolet S-10 is pretty good and all...

Being a 4 cylinder 5-speed I'm averaging approximately 25 miles pe rgallon...Smiley And that's with 240 pounds of weight in the tail end to keep it on the road...Smiley

the golf is a great small car. Fast, looks good, good MPG and can be modded without too much hassle.

Not exactly Meinas, there is a Jetta wagon!

And yes, the WRX is considered to be a small car here in the states.

You left out KIA

Yes made in Korea

Has the best warranty of any vehicle that I know in North America.

I understand the warranty is unlimited 5 years Bumper to Bumper and the vehicle can even be serviced by Canadian Tire if there is no dealership close.

What most companies offer as options KIA is standard, for example...automatic transmission, AM/FM Radio with CD Player, Full road side assistance (No need for CAA) and they start around $16,000.00.

I see more and more of these on the road and I am going to start to look at them as well.
