I don't care if my legs had been gnawed off by otters and my head was on fire...if there was a flying machine of any sort at my school (back when I was IN school), I'd have been there.  lol

But yeah they are supposed to be the armys. Testing and training going on in yeovil, and no doubt a few other places.

They are currently having problems with the new anti tank missiles giving off debris when launched and damaging the tail rotor so as yet they cannot be used in anger or live fire exercises. Nice pics although its not the longbow version as mentioned in the earlyer post. But the highway speed trap is a longbow. The longbow has the radar dome above the rotor head which gives the gunner and extra veiw over hill humps and trees with out exposing the helo also adds extra range by not being restricted by the airframe. I have made serveral models of this helo when i was a kid and would to fly one thanks for the link im of to d/l right now.

that and the fact it doesnt have any pilots trained for it yet and wont do for a while. They bought the aircraft refitted it. But forgot to buy the simulators and instructors. They are now only just training up instructors of our own i believe

Yes thats rcorrect. The army sent its best helo pilots to the US to train as instructors and they beat the US pilots with there own kit. I belive 2006 is the day they are know due to come into service, with most of the pilots being trained in the US also the ground crews and tech`s are being trained in bases over here.
