Sorry to be a b..... nuisance but :

Uploaded a new pix for Avatar (CorsairxBaz) and this was succesfully acknowledged.

Installed same in profile (3 times) ticked the appropriate box, but didn't put in a message to go with it, just the pix.     Carefully checked the url, spelling etc, however it hasn't loaded and keeps dropping off i.e. when I recheck the profile to see why it didn't load, the spaces are empty.

In the instructions it states to tick the insert image when in the forum - where is that ?

Help required.

This is your current image as loaded on the server?

...
Resized version more suitable as an avatar:
...

The big image is 41K, the small avatar is about 2.5K, and closer to the actual display size for an avatar. Smiley

New URL is "http://www.simviation.com/yabbuploads/bazza_avatar.jpg "

To get it to show up as an avatar you need to make sure of the following in the "Personalized Text" section of your profile:
  • Select "no pic" in the drop down box
  • make sure there is a checkmark in the "I have my own pic" box
  • The URL I gave you above is in the text area beside the own pic checkbox
  • You select "Change Profile" at the bottom of the page

Do all that and you should have a Corsair as your avatar. Smiley

Thanks SilverFox,

I think it will work this time.

Considering the hundreds of downloads, planes/panels/sound/scenery etc I have done since FS98 you would think I could cope with the technology - age is a terrible thing.

Where I went wrong was - when I looked at my :"old" avatar profile, after the dreaded Pete demolished it, the url line read the same up till yabbuploads, then had the name of the avatar.    In this case it would have been CorsairxBazza, as opposed to bazza_avatar.jpg.   I hope this won't confuse other technically challenged such as me.

Thanks again  ...   Bazza.

hmmm...I made the new avatar too small...maybe you should resize it again to what the real size is. Smiley

Hi Bazza. If I was Craig I would have resized the image & uploaded it under the original file name without saying anything. It would have been interesting to see if you noticed the difference. Bet you would have been none the wiser. Tongue Grin
