I’ve been playing CFSII for a couple of years and have added aircraft, ships, troops and other items. Until a few days ago, everything has worked just fine. I decided I would modify a mission I had created using the mission builder. When I opened the mission editor, I got the following error message:

"Failed to initialize the database. You might need to reinstall this Product as some data files are missing or corrupted."

I went back into the game and got the same message when I attempted “Free Flight” and “Quick Combat”, however I can still fly all of the missions!

I’ve reinstalled the game, and my files, but still get the same message. Is there a particular database that may be causing the issue?  When I reinstalled the game everything worked fine again until I tried to open the mission editor. I’m back to the same error message!

Engineer. I suspect you have too many aircraft installed. My CFS2 FAQ page should help. http://www.simviation.com/lair/cfs2faq.htm

Thanks for the assist Hagar, as it turns out though, the number of aircraft wasn't my problem.

I had to do a complete uninstall and reinstall of the game. Apparently, there was something wrong with the OBJECTS_DP and the Scenedb>weapons.

Obviously, isn't the only thing you shouldn't do while drinking... Shocked
