Hi....I have downloaded the meljet 747 and have been unable to get the altitude call outs to work. Is there anything I need to do/set? Which file should the wav files be saved in? I have tried both sounds and effects neither seem to work.....any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Nigel

Sorry.....Im not an expert at this...indeed this is the first plane I have managed to download that works at all! There are two sets of install guidelines with the download and they seem to contradict each other, one says simply add the unzipped file to the aircraft folder, the other says add the files individually ie sounds to sound folder etc. I have looked in the sound file and there are altitude call outs in there so I am confused by your answer. Untill 3 days ago I had never heard of Meljet let alone tried to download any of their planes, so can you tell me if they have altitude call outs ...and if so in what file should they be saved in...many thanks.

Don't know if the Meljet has altitude callouts,but you could consider installing a freeware gauge into your aircraft panel folder.Two suitable gauges would be
FPDA_A330_Callout  or
737.WCgpws
These gauges are available with many freeware panels.
Your chosen gauge should be installed in the [WINDOW00] section of the panel cfg (located in panel folder)
Install the callout gauge below the last gauge listed in section [WINDOW00]
i.e.gauge54=FPDA_A330_Callout,  549,470,56,66
Hope this is of help,if you still having problems contact me arthurplum.

I'd like to have a look at that - what are the details of the Virtual co-pilot file ?

I found it at http://www.avsim.com/ ;  click on file library at the top of the home page and do a search for it. The program can be customised to suit your needs and I have found it excellent (once I got my head round it!) Hope that helps

The Virtual Co-pilot can be found by going into the AVSIM web site and doing a search for vcpfs2k2.zip hope that helps.
