Right, I've got CfgEdit and a panel background without any guages. I want to use the standard Cessna Guages so how do I put them on.
Cheers. Sam 8)

I am not really expert in panel creation-I am working now on my first panel as well and also have all kinds of problems. But I am using FSEdit(comes on MFS2004 disks) for panel editing-pretty good but has it's own issues.
By the way-I was going to try cfgedit but on their page is said that cgfedit 1.5 daz not support both FS2002 and 2004-sounds stupid,ah?So you say that it daz work for 2004?

CfgEdit will work fine for both FS2002 & FS2004 panels but as Sam discovered you have to set the path from options to the appropriate FS directory. It's not fully compatible as it can't cope with the later XML gauges introduced with FS2002. The payware version, FS Panel Studio is by the same developer & is fully FS2002/4-compatible. He would obviously prefer you to purchase this rather than use the earlier freeware version. If you like CfgEdit & are seriously interested in panel design this might not be a bad idea as it has extra features.

Sam. I'm not sure what you mean about the black square. Maybe you can post a shot. It's possible to resize the gauges to fit in CfgEdit, either by dragging the corners or from the gauge properties.

PS. Unless it's a considerable improvement over the versions included with both FS2000 & FS2002 I would steer well clear of FSEdit. Apart from the XML gauge issue CfgEdit is much better. This is easily overcome with a little knowledge of Panel.cfg

Hope posting this pic in here isnt dissalowed.

...

As you can see here, i added 2 standard cessna guages to my panel over the ones that didn't move. (part of the image) I re-sized them but i cant make this black box around them go transparent, it does it fine in the preview box, but not in FS2002 itself.

Angry I'm miffled Angry

Thanks for all the help, I wouldnt have even got this far if it werent foy the ppl on this here forum.

Hi Sam. Sorry, I forgot to check back on this. I know of no rule stating that you can't post an image in any forum. Wink
I think those black squares are the bezels of the gauges. If you don't want them to display try the CfgEdit "Gauge/Draw Gauges Transparently" option.

Tell me if that fixed it.
