Hi I was hoping to get some opinions on which software you would recommend I get.
I want to start trying to design Airport scenery and thought I would start with our local airstrip and work up if I get on with it.
However its a bit of a minefield and I was wondering what you all reckon to use? I have FS9 I dont mind payware if it is worth it.

Okay, for starters go find FSSC (Flight Simulator Scenery Creator), which is one of the best freeware tools I have found for creating airports and such in FS. For further editing of said airports (AI taxiway use, control tower freqs), I use AFCAD which is another freeware program, and has a new version which allows you to edit visible stuff as well as non-visible. Check out both of those and then get back to us.

Thanks Endon I have FSSC now and working through thre tutorial, I will go get AFCAD ASAP.
What do I need to design my own structures (macros I guess you call them) rather than just use the stock ones. Or is tghis what AFCAD covers?
Thanks

To create your own macros, EOD (easy object designer)
is a brilliant little program.
Here is the website:

AFCAD currently can't control buildings etc. but in the future it will. If you want to add some general buildings around the place, Rollerball's package allows you to place objects from the FS library. Pippin has made a nice picture package to help in Identifying the objects available.

Thanks Eden, I guess I want to design structures as near the real structure at the airfield as possible.
