I sent a young friend of mine the simaviation link to download a Concorde for his fs2002.
I gave him instructions to install everything and he managed that OK.
He's a bit too far away to visit and I have never tried the Concorde.
Problem is: he says that even on a long runway, he can only get the aircraft up to about KIS 185. Not enought to rotate.
He can't get it off the ground.
I was wondering if any of you had an idea what is going on there and what he has to do to get that puppy airborne.
thanks...Michael

Hi Michael.
I don't fly the Concorde but on this site is a file 'Concorde flying notes'.
I just searched for 'concorde manual' and this file popped up. I think this will help your friend!
Best of luck

Michael,
The problem that your friend is having is that the Concorde model (just like it was in real life) would never get off the ground with a full fuel load. I fly the FS2000 Concorde in FS2002, and at Heathrow, my max fuel load is around 75-80%, never more as you have a problem getting airborne. Reduce the fuel load from 100% in the 'aircraft' menu, and you should have no problem then.
Incidentally, it was always easier ('easier' is a relative term!) for the Heathrow-based BA Concordes to fly to JFK with a little slack on the fuel load, as the distance was less than that for the Air France Concordes from Paris. Consequently, fuel load was always more critical for them, since they had further to fly. However, the fuel tanks were never full.
Hope this helps.

Michael,
Another thing that hasn't yet been mentioned. The Concorde requires afterburners (reheaters) to accelerate faster during takeoff.
Advance throttles to full, then light afterburners with "Shift + F4". And away you go.
Cheers,
