I was strafing a truck convoy, and got a little too low.

I don't like the Stuka very much. It's too slow and I completely suck with it.
I like the IL-2 Field Mod. Now that plane can turn.
I like the plane's gunner configuration as well. The gunner has more movement.
Watch out for me when you're online. I'm more of a hit-and-run kind of player.
The IL-2 M models don't seem to like me very much.

Uhhhh... Silent, the field mod is included in the IL-2 series. Always has been.
Just look at the list of available flyable aircraft in the Quick Mission Builder [QMB].
I'm surprised you never noticed the Field Mod.
That plane can carry:
2x 250kg Bombs [its heaviest load]
8x M-13 Rockets [good for AAA busting]
a set of cassettes
and a lot more.
The cassettes are made to release a cloud of coloured smoke over your enemy. And it's a realy FPS killer against your enemy. Just deploy these over a sitting duck [your foe] and that guy will have a huge problem with his Frame-Rates. Heehee >=)
And it's the only Sturmovik that doesn't lose much speed when making tight turns. And it's hard to make it stall while turning.
I used to get shot up pretty bad because of the enemy AAA. However, this plane is like a flying tank and it took 5 minutes for a set of AAA to bring me down.
A player was flying a FW190 and tried to bring me down from behind. Well, he made swiss cheese out of my left wing. But my tail gunner managed to SAW his wing off just he passed me. And I still kept on flying like nothing happened while he plunged to his doom in his FW190.
I think it was an A-9 model that he flew.
