I've just installed GMAX & want convert my files to FS9 format... where do I get "MakeMDL.exe" from? (or do I have it already but just can't find it? lol). I only found GMAX by accident today, but I can't see any utility for file conversion on my FS9 disks.

Thanks  ???

But remember - if you don't have the FSmodelexport.dle (or whatever its name is) you won't be able to convert the gmax file to the format you can then use makemodel with!!!!

AHH!!!! I was just going to add a... "NOW what have I done wrong?..." kinda question to this post, cos `.mdl` don't appear in my export file format options!, but you've answered it before I could post it.

I'll go to that site you gave me & see if it's available there... Microsofts site is tooooo sprawling!

I read it  Cry looks like it's only available in FS2002 Pro.

So... whats the point in packaging GMAX 1.2 with FS2004 if they ain't gonna give you all the bits to make it all work????????

I've been sat here wading through web page after web page all day looking for files only to discover the files I need aren't even there!

VERY frustrating... wasted flying time  Roll Eyes

I went to the Dicreet website and I use to download the v1.1 and it had all the files for a lot of things. However, v1.2 doesn't have those?

Microsoft is trying to make us all buy FS2002pro even though we are just looking for a measly file. And who wants pay $40 for just a measly file like FSModelExp?

I have FS2002pro and FS9.

It is possible to find it on the web, if you are lost you may pm me and i will point you in the right direction (i will simply turn you around to face the right way) but in an indirect way so that there is no legal problems.

It is like i know which wood it is in but i will only turn you and face you towards the wood never actually take you to the wood and never tell you it is actually in there or where to find it.

If you are wondering how i discovered it, well it was an accident whilst i was looking for a good flight sim forum, which i eventually found this place and am glad i did.  I don't need the dle so i don't download it, but when i do need it i can get fs2002pro from a friend second hand or wait until the new sdk is released.
