Well since i was in bath today for a trip to the hospital, i thought i would cheer myself up and buy CFS3. Not only did i get it for cheap because of a last day Game sale, but it wasnt raining either:)
Now, after playing it for short while i can see i am going to need RAM as its running slow even with minimum settings, i am hopefully going to be getting an upgrade there this week. And i need a video card, so can anyone suggest a good one for less than a £100?
and finally what are some good freeware addons, and aircraft to get?
Thanks for any help guys.

Well Craig you can get some good GeForce 4 cards for around £100 these days. As the latest cards come out, last years hot cards get cheaper. I replaced my old Kyro II card with a cheap and cheerful GeForce 4 MX 440 with 128 meg DDR and that did the trick for me for less than £50. Most folk round here don't think the MX cards are up to much, but some of the better cards are still in your price range.
As for planes, go to AvHistory (if you can catch their site whilst it is working these days) and grab the Beaufighter and the 109's and 190's and LF Spits and grab Groundcrew's 110 and Swordfish and grab the MkI Spit and Hurricane from SimV and grab some top notch repaints for the crappy looking stock aircraft from here and the outhouse and Netwings Grin
And someone PLEASE make a MkXIV Spit for CFS3, please Wink

Thank you Hawker:) Much appreciated.
As for the video card. I dont have one at all just an onboard  chip. so even the cheapest card would be an improvement. If you have any screenshots, could you point me in the direction to give me an idea of what it looks like, as £50 sounds good to me

A geForce4 Ti4200 did wonders for my CFS3. Wink Well worth the money. It cost me about £130 around this time last year so it should be a bit less now.

Now, Tempest, GROUNDCREW HAVE RELEASED A SWORDFISH? AND I WASN'T TOLD? WHY? Shocked

Hey Woodlouse, you cannot know everything, not even when a pic is posted right under your nose Grin Grin Grin
http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=cfs3;action=display;num=10...
However, it's so far just a quick conversion of our old FSDS1/CFS2 Stringbag, so it needs quite a bit of work until it's up to par.
We'll finish her as soon as the other work in progress stuff is out (Yes, still working on the Lanc)
....and excuse the shameless self-promo Grin

These should give you an idea of what I'm getting from CFS3.
I have colour at 32bit 1024/768 screen size and clouds and aircraft set at 5 with everything else at 4. Runs well enough for me. All I need is a bit more memory and I'll have this sim sorted Grin

Oooh yes, the Lanc... Can we have a little update on it soon please? And an estimated release date? Smiley It is the CFS3 project i've been looking forward to most.

I have the Stringbag now. And is quite satisfactory. I look forward to seeing the final version. Wink
