Guys,
looking for feedback on the recent release YAS_MkIa.zip,

I want to incorporate any/ all/ some areas of improvement into an upgrade and the MkV (trop) nearing completion.

The flaps don't seem to want to extend past about 60deg, no matter what setting I have in the .cfg file. Any ideas???

Not sure which design program you are using...

but the cure is pretty much the same either way.

Use a heirarchy part as the parent of the flap. That parent is also a flap itself, between the two of them you get their combined motion. Set the flaps for 45 deg and the two will give you 90. Smiley

Merlin pal, tried out the Spit (see screen shots). Just a couple of comments.
The prop and spinner need a bit of work, blades more like a MkV type prop, and needs the yellow tips adding.
Flaps slightly over extend and cause plane to nosedive. This could be a 2K2 problem, but may need fixing.
Plane wants to fly nose down, but trims out OK.
Other than that, it is a very nice early Spit and one well worth having.
You may want to get Ozzy to try it out with a bit of stunt flying Wink

Thanks guys,

The design was "de-tuned" for CFS2, some of the FS2002 features, animated pilot arms , nav lights etc are still there but suppressed in CFS2. The .air file was for CFS2 also. The VC, prop, lights etc fix should be out in the next day or so.

I'll try the parent flap as a solution. Does that mean that CFS2 is limited to 60 deg or so in one flap movement?

Well, I fixed the flap animation problem by adding the data from an FS2K2 Spit IIa and they now extend to the correct position, however it still will not fly with any flaps at all at any speed. I'm well out of my depth now. Adding data from other planes I can do, but anything more complex is rocket science to me I'm afraid ???

Haven't forgotten you guys.
The prop and VC are just being triple checked before release.
Then I'll look at the flaps again. There's also feed back on a couple of texture/ graphics issues:
The door appears floating from the starboard side after closing????
The texture on the port wheel cover appears inversed at high zoom when the U/C is down?????

If you look forwards from anywhere between 3 and 9 o'clock, the exhausts turn red Shocked
I'm still trying to fix the spoiler/flap issue at the moment.

The exhausts are "glowing" internally, there's an interior bright material finish in lieu of the FX.

Tried the key animation of the flaps... no go.

I'll try the two stage approach later today.

Shadow fixed, lights fixed, rogue door fixed, tail light fixed, prop texture fixed... well almost!.
VC in "check out mode" with moving yoke.
