Is there a atomic bomb weapon pack out there for download?? If there isn't would it be smart if I made one? (The explosive power might be too large making the game too easy and screwing up the game, which is not smart ???)

I'm not sure if this is what your looking for, but there's an outfit called GMX Media who just released a CFS3 addon called "Firepower".  The addon package has an A-bomb in it with effects.  Check it out in the latest copy of 'PC Pilot' or at GMX's website:  www.gmxmedia.net/firepower

You mean one of these. This is me flying off in the distance as my wingman nukes a target.

"Does it actually destroy everything in the blast radious?"

Yes - roughly about a 2km radius.  There are three abombs simulated:  The Fatman, LittleBoy, and Virus House (listed from most powerful to least powerful).

FirePower has re-designed all weapon data quite dramatically from the stock settings, while keeping gameplay in check.  When you get used to using 250lb bombs, then move to the 500, 1000, and 2000, you really get a sense of how powerful the larger bombs were.  Still, it would take countless hits from even a 2000lb bomb to completely take out a larger facility (as in reality).  Then you experience the 22,000lb Grand Slam carried by the Lancaster, and you can see how useful that must have been by just decimating not only large targets in one hit, but the area around it too.

Once you are all used to those bombs, then you drop a nuclear bomb, and can really understand just how powerful they are, even these WWII-era ones.  By today's standards, these three would be considered tactical nuclear bombs.

...

For a complete spread, go to www.shockwaveproductions.net, and click on the nuclear bomb picture.

Where do I download these aircraft and atomic bombs?  I have looked on the sites above but it is just info or movies.  It looks awsome plus I want the B-29 and the Lancaster.

Where do you download these aircraft and atomic bombs?  Ahhhhh....there's the rub!  They're payware and available from the GMX Media site posted above (look for the 'purchase' tab in the upper right hand corner).  Sorry about that.

Anyone wanting to purchase FirePower should order it from the following site:

http://shop.game.net

The company "GAME" is Europe's largest game retailer, and have an excellent online shipping system.

Actually, the Grandslam was a pinpoint deep penetration bomb designed to get through 30 feet of ferro cement before detonating. What it did was get dropped from 18,000 feet, then as it fell it went vertically downwards and span around so essentially you had a ten ton bullet that was going faster than the speed of sound. The casing surrounding the bomb was made of a specially made flawless steel so that it would not break up on impact. This made it possible for the bomb to penetrate at least 30 feet of concrete or 100 feet into earth. When the bomb detonated it made a crater 100 yards across and 200 feet deep. Far better than an A bomb. Grin

Absolutely - a choice weapon for sub pens.  All of this data is taken into consideration when creating the damage values.

Even general purpose bombs that exploded at impact had a much lower blast radius effectiveness than reflected in so many flight simulations.  We consulted with actual bomb blast test data of various weapons, measuring air pressure at specific distances, and then cross-referenced military values for different target types and materials.

Almost every target, vehicle, ship, aircraft, and weapon was matched up and tested against this data.

Actually, Subpens were usually despatched with Tallboys. Grandslams were only used on Subpens in Hamburg where the Germans made the subpens there a lot tougher than the french ones. Grandslams were used for the really "special" raids. Such as destroying the V3 facility inside the Saumer tunnel and the Bielefeld Viaduct.

And I forgot to say, that second Atomic Bomb picture is absolutely superb. Its how a nuclear weapon detonation should look like. But one thing, does it air burst?

You have the choice to use the Grand Slam against a sub pen, and do not have to stick to what was done historically.  Some buildings were so well protected they could actually survive a direct hit from a Tallboy.  I think if some of those raids were done over, they may have opted for the Grand Slam if they were available.
