New....
Maybe the Viper MKII, but I doubt it.
Old, maybe a shuttle and a Cylon Raider.

The false canopy used in some schemes works exceptionally well. I have been painting some of the test Ferris schemes on our upcoming F-15. On one particular flight over Edwards, when i was in spot view and banking, the effect i had whilst watching the aircraft was very unnerving and quite disorientating. Of course the scheme helps the aircraft blend into the landscape, but with the false canopy added, at times i had to think twice for a second as to what way the aircraft was going, put this into a close range/dogfight and that is the diffrence between life and death.
The screenshot below may help show the effect.

I didnt know that USAF uses that?
The Russians used (and maby still do) that idea on their su-27's and maby before.
Ofcourse the chance of aircraft comming close enough for a dogfight is nearly impossible these days.
Anyone know who started to use this first?

First heard after the First World War,
Then heard after the Second World War,
Then heard after Korea,
Then heard after Vietnam,
Now heard again...
It's never been right before and now is no different. A single line in the ROE's (Rules Of Engagement) can
require
visual ID before firing. Stealth is lost, BVR missile shots are out and we have a knife-fight.

the fake canopy has been around for awhile. It's so you can tell if the plane is rolling towards you or away.

Aahh OK so true. those pics trev uploade do confuse. In a dogfight I really do think that will give you a chance to take control of the dogfight very cool thanks guys. Wow amazing.
I noticed the fake canopy on this sweety when I was looking for a shot and found the canopy a bit cheap ( detail ) but it was the fake one lol

The AIM-9X doesn't care either.
That's only a useful fact if you have one primed on the rail, and if you are within G Launch tolerance, and if you are within range....
Rely on the missile and you get a silk elevator ride.
