Now, although it looks big and heavy, the Tempest is one fine fighter plane. Air to air combat with Fw190D.
Tempest squadron. Keeping close to my wingman.
Enemy in sight, My wingman is a bit keen and goes off after a pair of 190's.
With speed and hight advantage, I dive into a formation of 190's.
One down. Coolant streams out of the doomed 190. He didn't last much longer.
Two down, the Dora spins out of control as I fill him full of 20mm shells.
I lost a lot of altitude chasing No.2 so I have to make it up as quickly as I can to get back into the fight. As I climb up, a 190 crosses my path...
Three down. It's a Hat Trick!
I hate to say this, but the CFS3 Tempest is even better than my dear old Spitfire

Nice work Roger, but better than a Spit? Methinks not
Mark
There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

Don't worry pal, the Spit still rules CFS2
In this sim though, I can't get close enough to anything other than a 110 or a bomber with a Spit unless I'm higher and can dive on it. I end up taking pot shots with a load of deflection angle from 300+ yards ???
The Tempest however is fast enough and turns well enough to get in close and that's just how I like to dogfight.
What I need is a MkXIV Spit (hint, hint to all you designers out there
)

Ah the Tempest. My favorite dogfighting machine in CFS3. I like having a twirl with Me262's best. On maximum reality my best score was six Me262's shot down. I rammed and destroyed the seventh.
Happy days.
Nice pics there Tempest. I might record one of my fights oneday. Then you can see how the pro's do it.
