Just thought I'd do this for fun...

It's a vague imitation af Gerald Coulson's painting Guardian Spirit, which has a Spitfire Mk.I (or II) of 92Sqn (most of his paintings of Spitfires feature this squadron) being shadowed by a ghostly SE5A off its port wing...

...

Here's the real one,
...

It's just occured to be the combination of Seafire and Triplane is quite apt, as I believe the Sopwith Triplane was used by the RNAS in the Great War, the forerunner of the FAA

I almost did! May still do so, it's just choosing the ghost a/c to go with it. How about a Hawker Typhoon (he says belatedly realising the link between the two)? Was going to do a Tornado Gr. ?  with a DH Mossie...

Or perhaps a Eurofighter with the ghost of a Spitfire in the background?

Cool pic  Grin like the ghost effect.  Think that its a Sopwith triplane though, the SE5A was a Biplane if i remeber right.

Charlie already knew that Gixer. The original painting it's based on is of a Spitfire & SE5a.
