I'm happy to plug you.  I didn't know why you didn't post the link in your sig so I didn't want to be too obvious.

Thanks Jim,

Simviation has always been a strong supporter of my little site and I have always appreciated that greatly.

I have edited my signature block to have the link on it now.

Some, no names to protect the guilty, have purged my posts in their forums because they think that my site is a payware site as I have a small percentage (under 10%)  of textures available for $2.00 each simply to help with the overall cost of running the site.   Not making big dollars either I'm sorry to report  Cheesy

But the occassional $2.00 here and there and some generious donations every now and again help a great deal and a big thankyou to those who do help or turn a blind eye to my little plugs here and there.

Regards

Well, I appreciate the "Plug" as that is a very pretty aeroplane picture there and I want it!

Hi Will,

I presume your "I want it" is refering to the texture for the aircraft not the picture shown  Cheesy

Feel free to pop on over to my site - hit the Catalog button - goto the  B777 pages and you will find the B777-MJ page link, follow that link and down at the bottom of the page and you will find out how to get the texture set.

She looks even better in the simulator - JPG has a tendency to downgrade the screenshot.

Regards and happy simming.

Hi Gary, just to let you know I've had & am still having a hectic few days - & this is the 1st I've heard of this. On Saturday morning alone I had 1695 messages waiting in 'webmaster' - 99% were the result of a DOS attack & were security alerts.

I also get several 100 spam/virus messages every day so my spam filter has over 100  block words in it - so much good mail gets deleted.

Again I have to rush out now (single dad of a 5y/o) but I'll deal with this as soon as I can - this PM I hope.

Sorry & thanks for your understanding.

Hi Pete,

Thanks for getting back to me on this matter - I understand the flood of mail issue - suffer the same myself, not quite the same volume but lots and lots of junk.  I too have probably killed many important messages inadvertently.

If you would like I can forward the message again through this forum as a personal message to you.

But the gist of it is that the download file mentioned is an exact copy of two of my textures that were commissioned by TransloadAirlines Virtual for their exclusive distribution through their site (free distribution) but definitely limited to being available to their site.

Both myself and the proprietor of the http://www.transloadairlines.com site seek to identify the Publisher - not as a negative aspect but to simply discover why they believed that they had the right to publish these textures without consent nor proper acknowledgment and to clear up any misconceptions that they may have.

Regards and my appreciation in advance when you get the time from your busy schedule.

That's exactly what I meant, and exactly what I did.

Thanks mate

Hi Gary,

Great work by the way. I fully support you in this issue.
I too have expereinced some of this. Won't go into it other than it sure makes you angry that someone else uses your work and makes a claim, explicit or vague, that it is their's.

I have found that most creator's will allow you to upload a package of theirs if no files are changed, or will allow you to use theirs and modify IF credit is given where it is due. ONLY one time did a creator of a package not want me to post it on my site. This stuff is for CFS2. I respected his wish and put a link to his site to go get the package.

I read carefully the README and copyright info. Even if they claim it is FREEWARE and can do with it what we like, if I use it, I give them, as the original creator, mention and/or credit. Seems only fair. If they require permission, I get it. Try to anyway. Have had a few that after two or three weeks of waiting for a reply, I have to drop it. Sad

Pete and the fellas here are extremely interested in running a site that maintains it's good name, and they have done a very good job.  I am sure the problem will be corrected as soon as Pete can get through all his emails, the spam and get his 5 y/o off his leg.  Grin

Best of luck Gary and to your site. Keep up the GREAT work.

Hello Gary, How are things. We have spoken a few times in the past. I was always "plugging" your site when "reflective" textures first came out! You are the "PIONEER of REFLECTIVE TEXTURES"!!!  Grin
I remember over a year ago when I "stumbled" onto your site. I was so impressed that I think I down loaded almost all of your repaints! I still frequent your site and congratulate you on all of your hard work and contributions the flight simming community.
Glad to see you 'POPPED IN", even if it is to clear up this mess!

PS. While you are here can, you develop a real good weathered texture like the aircraft in these shots I took while leaving Heathrow. The beat up metal look is very different and makes this aircraft look like it has seen some hard time! Grin    Shocked
Anyway, Keep up the great work!!

Here is the link to the shots of Project Opensky's 747 done in the Air India livery with the weathered look.

Oh, and to add to previous posts, Pete does not stand for this nor do many of the members here so I am sure it will be taken care of!

Cheers!!

Thanks Genlemen for your kind words.

Pete has been able to grab a bit of time from his busy schedule and has now removed the offending texture release.  Thanks Pete.

I try to maintain the principles of releasing my textures only from my site or the appropriate VA site with the very occassional release by me through a major site like this one.   For example to help along a great Aussie site http://www.aussim.com.au I released exclusively three C130 RAAF textures - which came out very well.

Dave, I can do the weathered metal look, have done it many times in the past, but people still like me to push the reflective effects so I lean toward that most often for my metal work.

I will do a tinker with a metal effect similiar to what you seek and as a favour to Simviation I will release the texture exclusively through them to repay Pete for his time and effort and to repay all of the good simmers here that supported my outlook on the current issue.

Now all I have to do is see which aircraft I will do the artwork on..........

Regards
