Seeing Fret's beautiful sunset photo made me remember this shot, which I took on the evening of September 10th, 2001.

Ironically, weeks later I realized that this was the last sunset that thousands of people here in NY would ever see, for the next morning was September 11th.

Looking back, it was almost as if this last sunset on the way things used to be needed to be brilliant so that we'd always remember those days.

The sun rose, however, to a much, much different world. Sad

Beautiful! It was like the last day of peace here too that night.
I remember sitting on my deck unwinding after a long day at work and just staring at the sunset. Relaxing and then the sun rose again, to mark a day that no one will ever forget!
