Some downloads, usually the ones on an IP address (eg. 6400-0494-8945) Just bring up the download box, wait a while, and then bring up an error message. Is this just my machine, or has it happened to you?

I think it's due to very heavy traffic on that server. I have had several reports of this but I have also checked the files myself several times during peak & I can always get a connection. Right now that server is doing 160GB per day transfer which is a pile by anybodies standards.
It's fairly obvious that some sort of download speed restriction is going to have to be brought in. It will slow downloads for people with cable but increase access for the majority.

I've been keeping my eye on this & every day looking to see if something can be done to improve things. Things seemed really bad this morning.

Eventually - after much head scratching - searching server logs - looking at structure & some experimentation & mass d/l blocking - I simply restarted the apache web server & hey presto! Things are seeming to connect MUCH faster.

I've tried several just now with almost instant connections to the files - using dial up. Any further feedback is welcome.

Thanks.

I'm having a simular problem, but all downloads to 63.217.28.218 take forever to connect and sometimes they don't at all (404 message).  Once connected, the downloads come in at a resonable speed (40KB/sec).  Never have a problem with the forums until this morning, it took a long time for this thread to show up.
