I'm looking for a freeware heavy jet with a good range, clickable cockpit and good framerates, much like the now-lost Flightcraft A340 models (except with the new clickable cockpit - I like to be able to fly in VC mode)

I would prefer a BA, Northwest or similar worldwide livery, but I'll take what I can get!

Any recs?

Good jets with a VC are rare, i am afraid!

There is a Tupolev at Avsim, very nice, stunning VC, but a serious framerate-killer.

Project airbus has some very nice models with VC, although not entirely clickable ( almost only the autopilot)

I had the same idea about the VC, but recently i started to fly other jets without VC. It takes some time to get used to it, but there are somany nice models around.

If you Northwest and BA, check out the FFX planes. ex. The 737-500 as shown in my thread. ( leg 1 at the freeware screenshot-forum)

Look for anything by SGA/FFX, Meljet, or Project Opensky.  These are great freeware models.  You should be able to find panels to go with them, no problem.

If you want to pay some money look into Captain Sim, Phoenix-Simulation, etc.

i can't fly without a VC... so i have a hard time finding good planes too.

ive found a few great free planes with a VC:

project airbus a320
project opensky 757

the payware that i recommend with a VC:

captainsim 727
phoenix software simulation airbus 330 and 340
pmdg 737ng

so far the project airbus a320 and captainsim 727 are the only planes that have good frame rates. the opensky 757 freezes my computer and the pss 330 and 340, and the pmdg have low framerates
