Well, yesterday as I got to work, it started to snow and by the time the day was done, we had 9cm on the ground .....drive home and dig out so I can get in the driveway.......then wake up in the middle of the night and see it snowing more.....up at 6 am to see another 30cm.........now this is winter !
This is yesterday (Tues) at 8:00 am......my car is the one on the left........
........through the day it snowed more and more
.........and at 5:00 pm end of the work day for me, parking lot has been plowed and I'm off to go home......
.........this is 0600 (Wed) and the sight of our deck under a foot of snow.........
.........in the foreground you can see the deck railing with the effects of the deadfall snow.....apparently there was no wind in the night !
...........and finally, out on the street, you can see Wendys car buried under the snow and to make matters worse, the plows had deposited a mountain of snow, to the tops of her wheels, ensuring a good bit of digging before departure for the days chores.......

Hi Rifleman,
If we had snow like this in Britain the whole country would grind to a halt, as soon as britain sees snow 1mm thick they cancel all the trains close all the roads and the supermarkets would look like third world countries on a harvest day.
Britain really is purely organised

I wish we had snow like that in the UK! If the country ground to a halt then I wouldn't have to go into school!

I lived in Germany for a year, and had two weeks holiday 3klm from the border of USSR, in finland at the tail end of winter. It snowed at christmas in Zeppelinheim Neu isenburg , next to frankfurt airport. and for an Aussi who has Hot summer chrissys It was Different Standing in the Snow drinking Glu Vine (glowing hot wine)and I used to walk in the forrest under the flight path to FRA, and watch the Heavy jets come in.
It was Freeeeeezzzzzzing, But now its like this outside.

Thanks for the thoughts B-Man, but we have had a second dump already, albeit a bit less than the first...the second one was only 8 inches and its almost gone now too...........
