Apologies to our German friends for the accent! This oldie-but-goodie is dedicated to Ozzy, who is patiently waiting for his 73rd birthday, unlike Mr Esselbach, who just got to 18.

Very old German WW11 ace is talking about his exploits to a class of history students.

"Ve vere flyink in formation, ven zis Fokker screamed down out of ze clouds."

Alarmed, the teached quickly explained that a Fokker was an aeroplane.

"Oh no!" exclaimed the pilot. "Zis Fokker vas a Spitfire!"
