Hello,
I have not played CFS2 for years ( I am into Il-2 and Rowan's BOB ).
I am thinking of giving it another go, but I don't want to play the Pacific theatre, but would like to do the Battle of Britain  and use the Dambusters Add on.
What do I need for this please, and where do i download from.
I have seen reports re Pactex scenery? Is it applicable?
Is the Gary Burns  scenery required/desirable.?
Where do I get BOB planes, especially the 1% ones.

I have seen lists of ad ons - so many that I am a little confused.  If someone who has got the best scenery etc for europe and plays BOB and European theatre etc  would guide me , I would be much obliged.
Thank you.

P.S.  Does CFS 2 work with TrackIR ?

Ok Caz.Not sure where u get free ones from buuut. If you're willing to pay £15 then you can get two quality addons. They are both from JustFlight. And cost between £15-£20 each. Theres a Dambuster addon and a Battle Of Britain Memorial Flight for CFS2. I have the BBMF one and recommend it. The url for JustFlight is

www.justflight.com

Hope it helps.

The Dambuster addon is well worth the money. It is the only piece of payware I have brought and I do not  regret it one bit. I'm sure you can buy a BoB addon too. Failing that then there is one for CFS3...

Thanks Goose and Woodlouse - ( you chaps pick some wonderful names Grin )
When these add ons are loaded can you still modify their planes to 1%,
Also, what is the terrain like. Can that be Pactex- ed? Whatever that is.!I do like a good terrain.

From what i've found with the BBMF addon is that it adds the UK in great detail (fields etc). It also adds the RAF Coningsbury. Or sommat like that. This is an excellant scenry base including modern Panavia Tornados and multiple runways. I suggest getting them both. i know that the Dambuster addon includes the training runs and the Dams themselves with bombsight and the famous stick and two nails along with the figure of 8 spotlights.

Caz,

All the 1% planes you require are over at www.avhistory.org.

Make sure you go to the CFS2 section!

You won't find a spitfire MK1 just yet but there may be one out soon (but I didn't say that  Wink ) There are Emils and Hurri Mk1A's available which make a great match!

There is also a Lanc mk1 there but it won't carry the bouncing bomb or the sticks and spotlights without modification so you are definitely best to get the payware as above.

There is an excellent BoB scenery download here on simviation. also includes the white cliffs.

Pactex is just the textures that will sit on top of whatever ground mesh is under it. They are well worth getting as they also include European textures.

Get yourself any of the many Europe or UK meshes so that it doesn't look like a pancake all the time! Again you can get these here at Simviation. Generally the most recent will be the best. I made my own so I'm not sure of the best one.

I usually fly 1% planes and am playing a bit of BoB at the moment. it would be great to see you for a game on the Zone whenever you are ready. I'm there far to often!

I hope this helps

There is a Spitfire MkIa avaliable from the VB planes section at Sim-outhouse.com. It is the only one i've found. The flight dynamics arn't that good but you might be able to get better ones from the 1% guys.

If you want the best Hurricanes and Bf109's avaliable then go to Mauro's website at http://digilander.libero.it/IceMauro/

and off you go. The Bf109E threre I find is an incredeble fighter. I was never shot down in it in the SimV dogfights.  The great thing is that it has Automatic slats which means its impossible to stall! Grin The sort of thing I love. Grin
