Hi,
From the scenery design said to ask you boys.
Can I use 3d Studio Max or Lightwave to create a object which I can use for scenery object (or macros)
like Tower for example:) or is there a plugin for that?
If not what software I must use except Easy Object Designer becouse I can't work with it

I'm a little out of my depth here as I know nothing of 3DS or Lightwave. It would really depend how you intend using the objects you create. The standard scenery design applications like Airport & FSSC can import macros in the API format. I'm not sure it's possible to export in this format or convert to it from the more complex general 3D design applications. It might be possible to convert them to separate BGL files.
This just shows how different people find various applications easy for them. I always found EOD easy enough to understand & work with but this might be due to my experience with the conventional 3rd party FS design applications (pre Gmax). I always found it best to keep scenery objects as simple as possible. EOD is the perfect utility for this.
I hope this is some help.

Yes you can.
Export your object as an direct x file and use makemdl directly on the x file.
Another roundabout way could be to export you 3DSMax file as a dxf, or take your lwo object and import into FSDS2 - using the CVA converter program, from where you can create your macro directly.

Ok any ideas from i can get the CVA program:)))
About the first way i can't say that i understand it all but let me ask ,just to be shure i got it right, by saying direct x file you mean any kind of file .3ds;.ai;.dxf amd so on or not.And how to use makemdl over the x file?
I'm sorry that i am asking so much but just wont to know and altho i have modelling and animating with 3D MAX and lightwave for more then 5 years, that file exporting haven't been such a problem:))))

I believe that 3DSMax5 can export directly to a DirectX (*.x) file. I'm not sure about Lightwave.
The CVA plugin-converter is available from:
http://flightsim.periskop.cz/fsitem.php?act=exe&id=59&lan=1
For a 3DSMax to x file conversion with the Pandasoft converter:

Hope this helps

X.exporter for Lightwave exists as well, although I failed to create with it x file, acceptable by makemdl - every time there is some kind of error...
x.exporters for Lightwave and Max are both free plugins, available for free download...
But in my personal opinion, based on experience-the best working x exporter is one for Maya, works without any problem, although there are problems with export when keyframe animation involved...
