Well, after much playing around I have finally got what I wanted. Great Afterburner, wingtip contrails and engine exhaust. What is nice is that these FX are tied into the DTS xml gauge that is used for the Viper's Afterburner. ( The Typhoon's AB) This means that what ever setting of N1 I select to use in the panel.cfg, 60%, 70%, 80% etc. , this is when the FX turn off and on.

Using a combination of Jan Rosenberg's Afterburner FX, bits and pieces from the Typhoon entries, modifying some Smoke and Lights Entries in the Aircraft.cfg and some of my own FX and textures, plus my dabbling to get the wingtip contrails and jet smoke to work and be set correctly, I finally came up with this.

Now Kirk's GREAT acft. is even more visually appealing to fly.

I like the afturburner, and the other things (I forget what they are called) that are coming off of the wingtips! but I think there is a bit too much smoke

Is the smoke always there or does it stop eventually. It looks ok at first but probably will look like there is something wrong with the engine. The wing trail looks good though!

It is the smoke from an F-4 I had. I am working on thinning it out and moving it back just a tad.

All three effects, AB, smoke and wingtip contrails are tied into the N1 setting you have enabled. Currently mine are set to 80%, so when throttle drops below 80%, all three effects shut off.

Oh, and sorry about the original posting and size of picture. It was late and guess I wasn't paying attention.

Well, after doing some more experimenting with a different effect, I came up with this. I like it better and to get the real effect of it you have to see the exhaust in real flight.

Still working on the positioning of the smoke, moving it back a bit. So far no luck.

Supposedly for for and aft. movements, you have to edit the Y offset in the effect file itself. The Y setting in the Aircraft Smoke Systems doesn't work according to all I have read. Working in the effect files Y settings, I still have not been able to move the dang effect back a bit.
Anyway, will keep toying with it.
