well, i need a monitor driver. i got a virus off my comp and now the monitor only shows 16 colors and 640 by 480 pixels. it's an Impression 7V type number J71A, does anyone know where i can find the drivers for windows 98 for this monitor?

Actually, you don't need a monitor driver.............

Windows will drive your monitor just fine.

Your missing resolutions are caused by your lack of a VIDEO DRIVER ..... same as a Graphics Card Driver.

Thats happened to my computer 3 (is it 4?) times! We did a complete wipe / re-boot!

Well, make it easy on yourself....... You need to get your video driver somewhere you can access it easily. Like burnt onto a CD Rom disk. You may already have it.

If you have onboard graphics, it will be on your mainboard setup disc.

If you have an Addon Video Card, It will be on the Video card setup disc.

If you have none of the above, determine your video accelerator by right clicking your desktop, go to:

properties/settings/advanced

there you should see  a TAB at the top with your video card or similar, click it for details..... then search the net for THE CORRECT DRIVER.
