Watched Castaway last night with Tom Hanks in. Very good film I thought. Anyway, can anyone tell me what plane they're flying when they crash? and what flight they're doing.
Thanks Grin

I found it interesting, simply because you end up feeling sort of sad when Hanks loses Wilson . . . Wink  It shows just how good an actor he is that he can make you care about a deflated soccer ball. Roll Eyes

it was an MD11 that crashed. it had winglets and a glass cockpit, the DC10 niether, and even the MD10 only has a small computer screen on it i believe. But the winglets were a give away there. he actually boarded an airbus though.
as for the route, prob asian country to memphis, i havent seen the whole movie in a long time.
the end of that movie is heaven for me, DC10's MD11's all lined up on the memphis fed-ex ramp. ahhhhh

I too was impressed with his acting ability.
I mean for a whole movie it was him and a ball, but yet it kept you entertained!
What other actor can you think of that could have pulled that off?
And the "plane" scene at the movie theater was AWESOME!!
Felt like you were on board!
as a matter of fact now that I think of it that was the last movie I saw at a theater! I need to get out more often!!

I thought "Castaway" was a great movie, however "Robinson Crusoe" was my favorite book when I was growing up, so I kinda have a thing for the whole 'being stuck on an island' theme I guess.

I saw that in the theaters.  It was good, but I don't think it was quite the acting tour de force they made it out to be...  Roll Eyes

I can't believe it!  You've never heard of Bridge Over the River Kwai? Shocked  Starred Alec Guinness (sp?), aka Obi Wan Kenobi.

I'm only 22, and I remember that movie.  How old are you?

I'm sure you've heard the theme song to the movie: its a favorite for those who whistle.  Try looking up the title to the movie and see if you can find a music link.
