I use photshop and dxt bmp to texture my projects, but they apppear blurred once on the plane, the mippmapping is offf in dxtbmp..any hints?
they are also in 1024 format

Have you recently adjusted your sound preferences in your sim? Also, what sim is this for?
After adjusting my sounds in CFS2, I had to go adjust the visual specs back up to where I wanted them, as I was experiencing the same problem.

Have you tried saving them as DXT3 bmp with alpha and no mips? I find that this always removes blurries for me.

The problem is probably the 1024 texture format.
I've also tried using a 1024 format on my models and found that the colours and textures were blurred when displayed in FS2002.
Try using a 512x512 texture format instead.

Like Paulb wrote you have to turn your mips off took me a wile to figure that on out. And watch your Alpa chanels make sure that you don't want any parts going shinny or opaque.
