At the launch today, the flyer hit puddle at the end of its track and failed to lift off...saw the video and it looks like the guy stalled it first. Going to try later...
Cant beleive there was no thread on this yet?
..or maybe I'm blind

Thanks. I suspected it was something of the sort.
It's not always so easy to duplicate history, even with all today's advanced technology.

You can never DUPLICATE an actual flight, you can record it and play it back but you will never DUPLICATE the actual flight.
A lot of taxpayers money has been spent in many many countries to prove that.
In most countries Government Civil Aviation Sites have threads leading to the above. It makes for some very interesting reading.
Happy Landings.....Cheers....Doug

Very true, I don't think they were expecting perfect conditions...heck, the brothers had to wait something like 3 months for the weather.

Maybe I should have said REPLICATE - never one of my favourite words.

Looks to me that they were able to do re-create everything except the exact weather conditions that the Wright's flew it in.
That's the only difference really, the Wright Bros. flew it that day and at at that hour because they had the conditions they knew they needed.
So with all the expertise, and dedication & planning these folks put into this project,............they left out the most simple of requirements..................proper weather conditions. And they went ahead and flew it anyway, and got the inevitible result.
The Wright Bros wouldnt have tried it, and waited for the "Wright" conditions to exist.
