I've been collecting a few historic British veterans (no Fozzer, don't worry you're safe) and although it's a difficult choice,  I think this one's my favourite.

...

...

...

With a Dart (whistling!) sound set, only one word to describe it - superb, excellent (sorry, that's two Roll Eyes )

It's by Rick Piper with a panel by Jan Visser.

There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

Very beautiful shots of a great plane, Roger!

Until recently, Heavylift Cargo flew this baby to EHAM.
If I remember correctly, it was my first ever glue model kit. It looked ugly, dripping with glue and paint (I was too young), but seeing these shots put me back 28 years in time. Thanks!  Smiley

???

No, sorry Silent, afraid it doesn't have either. All it has are doors that open and steps that appear when the engines are stopped.

Doesn't worry me though because I'm not a VC fan (but I know a lot of people are!)

And lots of animated surfaces = very low FR (sorry Meljet, that's why I never fly your loverly planes) so it wins there as well.

It's a pilot's plane - rewarding to fly esp. IFR with an instrument panel that's a little bit challenging. I found one or two problems with mine (some gauges missing) so I've done a RollerBall tidying up exercise and added an fs9gps_500 (not the Garmins - they waste just too much space and I thought the default GPSs were bad enough!)

I really like it and I might set up a few European AI flightplans as well because I really like to see the veterans around, especially when you happen to catch em landing and taking off Wink

PS

The other thing is it's pure nostalgia. The whistle of those engines takes me right back to being a kid again - black and white TV news reports showing the Prime Minister returning from an overseas conference or someone or other coming back from a 'Royal' tour. With world travel being so commonplace now it's difficult to explain how exciting it all was at the time and how big and exciting the World seemed to be to a little boy.

what a pity...this plane looks soooooooo awesome, especially the nose section.
hm,maybe i could add some interior views from other planes, but i have no ideas ,how a vanguard's cockpit looks like, so that i can find similar pics...
