Jersey to Southend - and you get a free massage (explained below!)
Here's the panel that I threw together from a few bits I had lying around....
And the massage? The last time I flew in a Viscount was in about 1971. I had a girlfriend in Belfast who I knew long before I met Mrs RollerBall. Midnight flight Friday, Heathrow Belfast return via Speke, £20. Not a lot of money even then. It was always packed. Exiled Irishmen (and lovesick young Englishmen) know a bargain when they see one. The planes, old Viscounts, used to vibrate so much you could see interior panels moving! At the end of the flight you felt as though your backside had had a massage!
Happy days!

Nice shots Roger, and an err interesting little bit of info?
Have you ever tried a Chinook? Its a little like a cross between a chiropracter and a heavy metal concert. One of my good friends was a loadie on them and refered to it as the worlds largest flying vibrator......

Thanks Paul.
For the life of me I can't think what it was. You'll have to remind me. I started work at Ready Mixed Concrete, which is how I met the young lady, but I don't think you can mean that
Roger
Bl**dy hell, no, that was
in
1971 (me memory's going apart for the good bits
)
Hold on - I've just thought... - no you don't mean... do you?
Nah, that happened well before then I'm glad to say

LOL This brings back some memories. Somewhere around this time (or a couple of years later) I went on a package tour to Spain. Never again I might add. We flew from Gatwick in an old Comet 4 operated by BEA Airtours. To say it was noisy inside would be a severe understatement. I was a tad worried when I felt a draught on my face coming through the window frame. When we landed with the outside temperature way up in the 90s the old girl was covered in thick ice. Thanks for the memory Roger. Happy days.

Perhaps, but it would need a catchy title Roger, something like The Gaffer-Tape Guide To Aviation

That title has a certain ring to it Ozzy. Not sure gaffer tape had been invented then. We used string & masking tape. Lots of masking tape. Horrible sticky stuff. I spent hours of my life removing it from various parts. It turned up in the most unexpected places. I don't care if I never see any again.
