Different market needs different aircraft...

A380 is the same segment as the 747-400X (take a 747-400, add a few meters at the front and the back and stretch the top deck until it ends at the reart part of the wingroot)

7E7 is A330 segment

Russian planes: IL-76 (all standard length ones),  Tu-154 and Il-62, Tu-134 and An-24RV&&&&AI flightplans and repaints can be found here

He's right,

A380 is in NO WAY in competition with the A380, it may seem that way since they are both being introduced at the same time Wink

mike i think you meant 7E7:) lol
and no they arnt being introduced at the same time, airbus plans the A380 in about 2-3 years, the 7E7 is at least 6-7 years away.
you really cant compair the two, proof of whos got the upperhand here, is, Airbus are desperatly looking for ways to get the 7E7's engines on their A330's but have realised it wont happen and are now looking into a replacement, Airbus are demanding the EU punish boeing over the fact it gets government funding which is Pot calling Kettle black, even funnier as airbus basically give away their planes to. And finally Boeing havent thought of a way to replace the 747 with an A380 competitor, so they arnt worried:)

Why isn't Boeing looking for a A380 competitor? Is it because they are more concentrated on 7E7 at the moment?

citation as a pilot yourself, i am guessing you know all to well, its almost impossible to predict the future in the aviation world. a week is long term planning. or something along those lines.
again though i think the 7E7 is going to be huge, the 767 needs to be replaced and the 757 aswell, there is nothing airbus offers that could be a viable option, the 7E7 will be it.
Small planes are always good to bank on, the A380 is going to be useless if there is another downturn in business, where as a half full 7E7 would be little to no problem.

Well at least alot of Boeing employees here in the Seattle area are in better spirits today, they announced it today that it's official.
The 7E7 will be built at Everett. I know it's going to be good for them as they've been holding their breath on this one for awhile.

JVC i dont know if you have seen the new interior photos of the 7E7, if not goto boeings site they are there, it looks nothing like the original photo, and it looks amazing, spacious, the colors and layout look really nice, and the windows are huge

I am actually working for Bombardier Aerospace completion center of Montreal. I have seen a couple design and parts from Boeing and I prefer Airbus. I think that they produce more quality than Boeing. And think that even if the 7E7 and A380 were introduce at the same time, Airbus is much further than Boeing. They have completed more than the half of the A380.

                                                                             Ciao

hey fred, Of course airbus are ahead, Being have only just begun offering the plane for pre-orders, not even begun to build the 7E7, the A380 has been in planning for a long time now. Personally i find airbus interiors very plain and boring, Boeing really exceeded the levels with the 777 the way its designed is amazing to give the idea of as much space as possible, and again the A380 is all about packing people in like sardines.
