for those of you who have seen the aircraft (see screenshots section), here are a few sample pics of the panel.

IT IS FOR FREEWARE RELEASE TO VIRTUAL US NAVY SQUADRONS ONLY (that may change at a later date)www.vusn.org.

some screenshots below of the panel, in detail (specifically the weapons pages of the MFD).

...

-Here you can see the startup screen of the Left MFD (you can move around the various MFD pages by pressing the buttons next to the text on the MFD's). This is the main weapons page, but the weapons system is not armed, so we can't do anything with the weapons until we arm them.
You can also see the completely new, specially written XML engine gauges, with the afterburner point marked (~70% N1) & the N1 bars turn red when you go into burner.

...

-Here the weapons sytem has been armed & the system test complete light is lit. notice how a set of new buttons has appeared on the left MFD (1 button for each of the loadouts provided, so you go to the load page of the model you are flying at that time).

...

-Here the CAP weapons page is displayed (note new buttons at the bottom of the MFD). Clicking NOSE HOT will light up the A/A light above the main systems arming switch.
You can arm the individual weapons by clicking the buttons that appear on the page (in this case AIM-9 or AIM-120).

...

-Here are the AIM-120's armed.

...

-This is the JDAM (PRS, Precision Strike) load page, with the JDAMs armed. Note that when carried, the FLIR is activated on the weapons page & will light up the A/G light & LASER light.

there are over 200 gauges in the panel & almost everything works!!!. Also the panel is a forward view only (so those annoying side panels/extra radio panels that spoil the view aren't included) & includes green night lighting (no default FS pink panel lighting) & a virtual cockpit.

the whole package should also be FS9 compatible (with a few minor panel changes) for those of you using it.

I see much detail has been put into the weapons system replication.  That radio panel looks like the one that Milton Shupe included in his aero-commander package as an alternative to the 50's era panel mounted tuners.  I question the authenticity of that .  Also,  is the panel equipped with  ai radar?  I have an F-16 with a nice one that does authentic forward looking arc presentation, vertical, and less authentic normal rose tcas style. Also, does it have a detailed and realistic hud?  Why put so much time into copying the actual weapons interface of the real plane when FS doesn't support these weapons??  Also, isn't there anyway to research what the genuine radio tuners in the real super hornet look like and install them pop-up style so the forward MFD isn't occupied by a non-realistic unit?  Of course, I'll admit that maybe that is what they look like but I know they aren't mounted where you have them in the real plane.  Check out Janes 'Super Hornet'.  Its cheap these days but the panel seems very authentic as does the one in the other Hornet sim called Super Hornet Gold.

those radios were just a temporary thing while i made the ones that will be included.

& yes it comes with the working radar (on 3 MFDs & virtual cockpit) & HUD that comes with it.

in the real thing, the left, centre & right MFDs are monochrome ones, the lower being colour. the centre & lower are also touch sensitive (the lower is included in the panel, just not visible in these shots).

Jane's Super Hornet is a little off, being designed mostly on the Hornet, as access to Super Hornet information was highly classified. however i have flown in the real thing & so have a fair idea of what goes where.

obviously there is a lot missing in FS that we can't model & a lot that is useless in FS too. the weapons page is really just a bit of fun & a reference for pilots so they don't have to check what they have got b looking at the external model (comes with 5 different model variants...)

It looks like its going to be an excellent package.  Are you also going to have the gpss display within one of the MFD windows?  How about virtual cockpit or interior shots?  Are all normal systems going to be modeled? Accurate start procedures and others?  There is a definate gap between the quality of FS war-planes and the quality of FS civil aircraft especially in the freeware area.  I really hope you do  release a version of this panel to non- virtual squadron people.  As an X- sailor ('83-'90) myself I would really appreciate a fine and very accurate hornet in my collection.  BZ and carry on.
