Not strictly correct but I use Shift-P to push back the Baron 58 but I get a violent pitch up when I end the sequence, with the tail end hitting the ground. Is there a tweak in the aircraft cfg which alters the centre of gravity of pilot/co pilot which will stop this disturbing feature? Or is this something to to do with airport elevation with 3rd party downloads? Any help would be mucho appreciated. Cheers

Well, I assume you're talking about the stock version of this aircraft?  If so, there shouldn't be any problem with using the pushback option.  I use it constantly, and have never encountered this problem with any default aircraft.  Are you using the brakes to stop the pushback?  This is one of the explanations I could think of, as inertia would try to keep the plane going, and it would rotate along the gear axels.

I had this problem with one of the Boeings (can't remember which one), but then I started releasing the parking brake before pushback, and waited until I'd stopped at the end of it before re-applying, and everything was OK.

Then I discovered Rob Barendregt's pushback/taxi speed gauge, and I use that now. (Search for 'Barendregt' on Avsim, and you'll get all of his gauges.

Thanks guys. Not using brakes and I am using standard 58, the only difference is with the late John Consterdine's excellent panel and Daniel Sallee's internal sound set. The latter does make a slight change to the aircraft cfg [piston engine] section (normalized_starter_torque 'number change to 0.08' but from what I can gather this takes care of the start up sounds only. Thanks also for the info on 'Barendregt's gauges', I'll have a look.

Cheers

Make sure you're not using the 1 and 2 on the keypad to turn on the push.  You should be using the regular 1 and 2 above the letters....if you use the keypad, you're adjusting the trim wheel with the #2, and the nose will shoot up later on. Wink

Thanks for all the tips. I have now downloaded and installed 'Barendregt's' Groundhandling gauges which are fantastic and the problem is no longer. Cheers  Smiley
