Thanks guys

I didn't like the 2002 Learjet but this is something different. It's a nice plane to move up to for people making the transition from GA/VFR flying to heavy/IFR

It looks good and has quite a nice flying model as well, although its acceleration after takeoff is a tad unrealistic I would think. Before you know it you're climbing at 1800/2000 fpm way in excess of the low altitude limit even before you can get the autothrottle switched in.

But all round,  it has to be one of the best FS default aircraft.

PS

What do other people think of the new GPS? I reckon it's a real waste of space - literally. Most of it consists of grey 'plastic' and as a result the screen is so small the information on it is unreadable and it has to be expanded to cover half the panel over the other instruments to make it usable. And I haven't found a way yet of getting route ETA, only ETA next waypoint. Grrrrrr!

Yep, I know what you mean. I still haven't figured out how to use it to its full extent. Grin Grin

The only thing I hate about the Learjet are those terrible droning engines! The first thing I do when installing FS is to Alias the sound to the Boeing 737! Otherwise I love it!

(Incidently the next time I install FS will be on my Uber-PC when it arrives in January Grin Grin Grin Grin) - The downside is no FS or anything for a month!  Sad

Sorry - Nice pics Rollerball!

I totally agree with the GPS....... I don't really know how to use all these fangled nav aids or whatever, I just use it to get to the nearest Airbase when I decide its time to land. Powering away at full speed in an F-104 for 10 minutes can leave you alittle bit lost and ussualy I have to make it full screen to see anything! Thats if you can re-size it 'cause thats pretty difficult to do itself!

Smiley he he Dave, even I have to fly somewhere else sometimes just to retain what remains of my sanity!

Yeah know what you mean about the engines Birdman - bit like someone f*rting down a drainpipe  Smiley but so far I've been able to live with em

Still not a bad model though (hey - what am I saying - I'm the one who wasn't gonna bother with 2004 and was gonna just wait til 2006 came out Shocked )

Glad I'm not the only one peed off with the new GPS. And the old 2002 one doesn't work so I suppose we'll just have to lump it. Life's such a drag 8)

rollerball,

the climb you mentioned isn't unrealistic. i've been on lear 31's and 45's.  they can hit 10,000 in something like 1 min. 46 secs. and the engines really have that annoying high pitch drone. Grin
some of the pilots at the cargo op at the end of my field will take thier lear 25's all the way to the end of a 6250 ft runway and pull up at 70 degree angles Roll Eyes

Thanks for that ruekesj. Interesting about the climb rate. Quite a little hot racer on the quiet eh?

Like your story. Pilots can be SUCH children can't they Grin
